A Look Inside RebelDot’s 2024 Internships

A look at how we opened the door to new opportunities and helped shape the next generation of tech professionals in 2024.

Internships are an opportunity to unlock potential, build meaningful connections, and shape the industry’s future. At RebelDot, we see internships as a two-way street: a chance for fresh talent to grow alongside our experienced mentors while bringing new perspectives and ideas into our team.

This year, we organized two internship programs designed to provide participants with hands-on experience and a chance to develop their skills while working closely with our team. Here’s a look at how we opened the door to new opportunities and helped shape the next generation of tech professionals in 2024.

Organizing internships in the current tech landscape

The tech landscape is evolving rapidly, with advancements in areas like AI reshaping the way we approach technology and business. We think that in this fast-paced environment, giving new talent a chance to step in and contribute has become very important. Staying open to fresh perspectives is key to driving innovation, and remaining adaptable in a fast-changing landscape.

At the same time, companies have a responsibility to play an active role in developing new talent. By creating opportunities for learning and growth, we contribute to a stronger, more skilled local tech community. And this is more than filling current roles: it’s about ensuring that the next generation of professionals is ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.

At RebelDot, we approach internships as a way to stay connected with the next wave of talent and ideas. They give us a chance to collaborate with people who bring curiosity and energy to the table, while also helping them build the skills they need to grow in their careers.

RebelDot’s 2024 Internship Programs: Growing Together

This year, we hosted two internship programs that reflect our value of growth, providing hands-on experience and collaboration between interns and our teams. These programs were designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, equipping participants with the skills needed to excel in their careers while contributing to RebelDot’s ongoing projects.

.NET & React

The first program focused on .NET and React took place over the summer, in July and August. Its primary goal was to act as a pre-employment training program, preparing interns for full-time roles.

With over 1,000 applicants, we selected nine interns who joined us as pre-employment hires, while one participant was hired directly as a full-time developer. Throughout the internship, participants worked on real-world projects, guided by experienced mentors who shared their expertise and supported the interns in navigating complex tasks.

AI Hackathon & Internship

Our second program focused on AI and began with a hackathon that attracted over 300 applicants, from which 20 participants were selected. This event served as an opportunity to evaluate technical skills, creativity, and teamwork.

Out of the hackathon participants, six were chosen to join our AI team for a three-month internship that started in November. These interns are now working alongside our team on projects exploring AI's practical applications in business, gaining experience with real challenges.

Why Internships Are Important

Internships play an important role in creating opportunities for emerging talent to transition from academic learning to solving real-world challenges. They help bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and professional experience, giving young professionals a chance to explore their potential in a supportive environment.

For us, organizing internships is as much about supporting the local IT community as it is about mentoring future professionals. Each internship program we organize is a step toward shaping a more skilled workforce and strengthening the connection between education and industry. It’s also an opportunity to share our culture and values with those who might become tomorrow’s innovators and leaders.

Ultimately, internships are also about connection. They allow interns to interact with experienced mentors and teams, learn the importance of collaboration, and gain insights that will shape their careers. At the same time, they give companies like RebelDot a chance to work with curious, motivated people who can bring a fresh perspective to everything we do.

We’re grateful for the energy and fresh ideas our interns brought, and we’re proud to have played a role in helping them take their first steps into the industry.

Whether it’s through internships or other programs, we’re excited about what’s next and look forward to welcoming more bright minds into the RebelDot team.
